Tonight Bryan and I witnessed the most amazing, sweet, humorous demonstration of our little boy growing up. 11 pm and we are picking up the family room and kitchen. Davis, a child who for months has walked 20 steps to our door to tell us he has to potty, and then with our encouragement walks back to his bathroom to go, has been asleep at least 2 hrs when we hear the door open, fumble to close the door and little feet shuffle to the bathroom next door. (Other than an alcove, his room opens up to the family room, but he didn't see us or didn't care. ) We debated whether to hide or turn all the lights off for fear he'd want to hang out with us or worse sleep in our bed. It was almost like Christmas Eve again -- whispering, giggling trying to not get discovered.
But there was no issue. He did his business and it was quiet (i thought he fell asleep maybe) and then we could hear the rustle of his pull up and flannel pjs and then he shuffled back into his room, closing his door behind him again.
I am thinking we are almost clear to ditch the pull ups. But we will wait a few more nights to make sure.
