This morning we had breakfast with our good friends and then went to the Botanical Garden to walk around in the grass. And while playing on the ground with my sweet boy, I got clocked in the forehead with my camera. I should have known better, but my reflexes just didn't move fast enough. I do have a bit of a mark, which for better or worse, runs parallel with my frown wrinkle in the middle of my eyebrows. Not really the look I'm going for, but oh well.
After nap time, we went swimming at the public pool where there's a toddler wading pool. It has a cover thank goodness and we had tons of fun once D got familiar with the water and all the noises.
and yes, we were shocked to capture D's first true steps while in the pool. Daddy says the slight incline might have been helping his balance. But he took 3 steps toward me before we recorded this second attempt. Never as good when you try to recreate. But I admit, mommy cried a little at such a momentous occasion on such a special day.
Then we came home, where we expected D to take a nice. long nap. No such luck. He must have been so mentally revved up, despite a 6-ounce bottle, he sat/walked/talked in his crib for an hour until 5:30. We caved and in his first moments on the floor he was back to trying to walk -- catching us, yet again sans camera. And yet again we could not reproduce for Uncle Jasyn who came down after hearing our cheers.
But, to further document a wonderful, crazy, busy day... Bryan and I were talking and turned around to see Davis on top of his music table. We freaked, took him down, and then laughed about it when we realized how silly he looked hanging on really only inches above the ground. So, when he tried to do it again 5 minutes later, we decided to record before telling him to get down, again. Because, we ARE good parents, who would never knowingly let our child hurt himself.
Yes, we are in trouble. He's definitely a climber.
Oh but wait, it gets better.... I'm saying he looks like a tree frog or a flying squirrel... any takers?
But at least we caught him in action to prove when he's older that he was a sne

aky, albeit flexible, little stinker
