Tiny Bubbles...

Somehow our bath time has turned into swim practice. Davis accidentally leaned too far forward in the tub and put his face in the water. Happily though, he discovered he could blow bubbles, rather than be scared of it. Fun times.

Early Morning Play Time

After he wakes up, we enjoy some quiet play time - read: no battery-operated toys. And he just loves this box with the little animals and things he can pull out. He's also very fond of shaking things that rattle.

Love Quiet Time

Most weekend mornings I'm up alone with Davis, Mommy doesn't do "early morning" and I catch some of the sweetest moments. Here I'm spying on him - he's woken up and enjoying a few moments to himself before he calls out to us to wake up. I feel like The Croc Hunter sneaking up on him...luckily he doesn't startle easily.

We're All Giggles These Days

When he gets the giggles, he really gets going. We have so much fun finding the trigger. Hope it puts a smile on your face too. I could spend hours listening to him.

Happy New Year!

So out here in Texas we sometimes have unusually warm days in the winter. This year it was a beatiful warm day on New Years at my parents', so we put on a hat, just to be sure we were protected from the sun, and we spent a little time in the fresh air. Davis wasn't sure about the prickly leaves, being such a tactile child, he still had to make sure he touched everything. We even went down to the pond and saw the Canadian geese that migrate to Levelland every winter.

Trick or Treat

Davis isn't too happy about having a similar outfit on as mom, but he finds me amusing. :)

You'd think this kid hit the jack pot on candy with this grin, but no this is just his usual happy self in the morning. I swear this is why we are always late to work... we stop to enjoy his happy times.

Guns Up!!

Not that I plan to completely influence this child, but it can't hurt to remind him of which school is preferred.

Nap Time with Poppy

There's a saying I've seen on onesies something like... you think I nap a lot you should see my grandpa... Well, it's even better when you have the two of them together. Funny part is Poppy doesn't know I snagged this one.

Special Times

One of our favorite times for me and Little D is when we're on the changing table in the evening getting ready for bed. He's so inquisitive and playful and here Rockin' Mama caught us having some bonding time. He's amazing with his hands and when I know he's looking right at me I want to give him the moon and probably just about anything else he could ask for.

Why I don't get work done

For anyone wondering how I, the father, cannot get work or finish other personal projects, see for yourself. Every time we get him set up in the swing or something to entertain himself he does something adorable and we come running back to witness it. Everything is "for the first time". So just bare with us. Because we ain't gettin' anything done with him around. Period.

Daddy's Little Wingman

I know there are all levels of sacrifices I will make as a new parent. But this has to be one of the more unusual ones. One night I'm in charge with Davis on the changing table balling his eyes out. So I grab his hands and rather than the song and dance his mother does I make car sounds. This quickly turns into a motorcycle engine I didn't even know I could do. Well, it worked. It just fit so well since he's laying there gripping my fingers, he might as well be cruising along on a hog. It's now my thing. And no, it's not like he's begging for it or anything, but I call on my inner noise maker anytime I see him going off the reservation. The sacrifice? It kills the throat. But it's worth it.

Lazy weekends are the best

I enjoy this laid back kid. He's always open to something new and sometimes it's a requirement. He never gives me an opportunity to settle into a spot and get comfy. It's always onto the next thing for him...thus the side-arm semi-footbal pose. Doesn't he look happy?

Good mornin' world

Davis has wonderful mornings where we just sit and smile at each other. We called Grandma and Grandpa and gave them a virtual good morning hug. This is truly my favorite time with him.

sorry this one doesn't have sound though.

The Thinker

This shot will always get me. He's only a few hours old, a little red in the face, but already contemplating life. And apparently it's not sitting too well. The crooked jaw has straightened out for the most part, but he still gets his chin up there and looks adorable.
